Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP expand its corporate, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity practices with four former Kirkland & Ellis LLP attorneys as partners in its New York and Washington, D.C., offices.
Gibson Dunn will add George Stamas in the firm's New York and Washington, D.C., offices and Mark Director, Andrew Herman and Alexander Fine will be based in the Washington, D.C., office, but will also work regularly in New York.

Winston & Strawn LLP has hired two partners in California with strong private equity and mergers and acquisitions experience from Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, including one who headed up that firm's Los Angeles corporate practice and previously presided over a private investment company, the firm announced.

Stephen Antion and Daniel Peters both join Winston as partners in Los Angeles.

Sandra Goldstein, head of Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP's litigation group from 2010 to 2016, recently resigned to join rival law firm Kirkland & Ellis LLP. The move makes Goldstein the latest deal lawyer to leave Cravath for Kirkland & Ellis following M&A partner Eric Schiele’s move earlier this year, M&A partner Jonathan Davis move in 2016 and M&A partner Sarkis Jebejian’s move in 2012.

Wilmer Hale recently announced the addition of partner Adam Friedman to its Emerging Growth practice in New York.  Mr. Friedman was previously with Sheppard Mullin for about 3 and a half years, King & Spalding for 12 and a half, after starting his career with Shearman & Sterling.

Alston & Bird announced Wednesday that it has expanded its finance capabilities in its New York office, adding three partners and two associates from Andrews Kurth Kenyon LLP with experience helping clients buy and sell loans and securities of distressed or bankrupt companies.

In the wake of the merger between Texas-based Andrews Kurth and Virginia’s Hunton & Williams LLP announced last month, partners David Hoyt, Kenneth Rothenberg and Russell Chiappetta joined Alston & Bird starting March 1, along with counsel Mathew Gray and Jason Cygielman.
